5 Cuisines You Need to Cook

These delicious recipes will teach you how to cook a variety of cultural foods.

Foods all over the world have different tastes, looks, and ways to cook them. Some foods take hours, while others only take minutes. Have you ever thought about how delicious the foods are, but never knew how to make them? Do you want to make them whenever you want, and NOT have to go to a restaurant every time you’re craving some food? In this article, I will be teaching you how to cook five different cultural cuisines— right in your kitchen! These foods include Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, and Indian.

How to make Dumplings 

Dumplings are a Chinese food classic and they taste amazing. You might have thought making them would be hard, considering how good they taste, but you’re wrong. These delicious foods are super easy to make, and taste amazing too!

Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour

½ cup water 

Any fillings you want! (ex: shrimp, beef, spinach..)

  1. To start, mix the flour and water together gently, until it forms a dough-like texture. 
  2. Store this in the fridge, making sure to cover the top. 
  3. While your dough is chilling in the fridge, take your filling materials, and mix them together.
  4. Once they are thoroughly mixed, bring the dough out, and form balls. 
  5. Flatten the balls, to make pancake-like shapes. 
  6. Use some extra water to trace around the edge of the dough, so it is only wet on the edges. 
  7. Put the filling in the center, in the middle of the water ring. 
  8. Fold the dumpling in half.
  9. Make sure that the edges are closed and flattened together. 
  10. Place dumplings in a boiling pot of water for 5-10 minutes, or until the middle is cooked and softened. 
  11. Enjoy!

How to make Sushi

Sushi is very well known all over the world, as it is a cultural pin in Japan. Sushi can hold anything you want, as it is unique in that way. Although it is very popular and well known, it is also very easy to make as well! 

Ingredients

Seaweed paper

Rice (Preferably Sushi Rice)

Water

Any fillings you want (Shrimp, crab, cucumber, ect)

  1. Lay the Seaweed flat on a clean surface
  2. Lightly brush the sides with water with your finger.
  3. Put a scoop of rice onto the middle of the Seaweed, and flatten it so it is about 2 cm away from the edges of the paper. 
  4. Put your fillings in the center of the rice in a row. 
  5. Now the tough part; carefully roll the bottom of the sushi to the top, making sure not to break the seaweed or spill the fillings. 
  6. If the seaweed doesn’t stick, apply a bit more water to the edge. 
  7. Cut the tube into pieces, and enjoy your sushi!

How to Make Chicken Fajitas 

Chicken Fajitas are extremely popular, as well as easy and delicious. They require almost no skill, and taste like a professional chef made it. These are filled with flavor, exploding in your taste buds! Here’s an easy tutorial on how to make them, however it is harder than the other recipes.

Ingredients

½ cup olive oil

¼ cup lime/lemon juice

2 tsp cumin 

½ tsp crushed red peppers

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast

Salt and pepper

2 bell peppers 

1 onion

Optional tortillas 

  1. In a bowl, mix together the oil, lemon juice, cumin, and red pepper flakes. 
  2. Sprinkle salt and pepper on the chicken, and put it in the fridge for about 30 mins-1 hour. 
  3. Once your chicken has set, pour extra oil in a pan, and start flipping your chicken. 
  4. After halfway through cooking time, pour your seasoning mixture into the pan, and mix. 
  5. Once everything is cooked, pour into a bowl and enjoy with or without the tortillas! 

How to Make Thai Breakfast Omelets 

Thai food is in my opinion, one of the best foods experienced. It’s full of flavors, spices, and surprises you never knew could even exist. It’s salty, sweet, bitter, and sour at the same time. I guarantee you will never forget trying this amazing recipe. 

Ingredients

1 lime juiced

2 tbsp fish sauce 

2 tsp brown sugar

1 small chili pepper

2 tbsp olive oil 

200 grams mushrooms 

4 eggs

100g bean sprouts 

2 onions

½ of Thai basil

2 tbs roasted peanuts 

  1. Combine the lime juice, fish sauce, brown sugar, and chopped chili pepper in a bowl, and set it aside. 
  2. Cook the mushrooms in about 1 tbs of oil, for 5 minutes, or until golden. Set aside. 
  3. Add eggs, mushrooms, bean sports, chopped onions, basil, and peanuts in a bowl, and whisk until smooth. 
  4. Pour this mixture into a pan, and fry until cooked through. 
  5. After you place the omelet on a plate, pour the lime juice mixture over the omelet, and enjoy! 

How to make Chicken Curry

You’ve probably heard or even tasted chicken curry before. It is delicious, and very popular. In this recipe, I will be teaching you how to cook this delicacy, only within a few minutes! 

Ingredients

2 tbsp oil

2 large onions

1 cup of coconut milk

1 ½ pounds of boneless chicken, diced into small pieces

1 cup diced tomato

Chopped basil or mint

  1. Place the oil in a medium frying pan, and heat your onions along with salt and pepper. Cook until the onions are soft. Add curry powder, stirring while adding. 
  2. Add coconut milk into the pan until it thickens. Add chicken, and fry until almost completely cooked. 
  3. Add the tomatoes, and add anything you think would be missing. 
  4. Top with basil or mint, and enjoy!
