Rating All Ships in Rick Riordan’s Books

You always love that couple. The couple that is perfect for each other, and it’s hard to imagine them NOT being together. You always put them together. Well today, I will take every ship/couple in the Rick Riordan series and rate them. Then, those top of the lists will go against each other, so we can see the ultimate ship. Note: I haven’t read the Magnus Chase series, so those ships will be popular opinion.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus

10. PERCICO

The ONLY reason this is here is because people like it. How this is a thing is beyond me. This is not OK. What happened to Annabeth? And also, Nico says in Blood of Olympus that Percy’s not his type and that he’s over him. This ship should NOT exist so it’s #10.

9. TRATIE

I haven’t understood this ship, but people like it. There isn’t any evidence for these two, but their personas match each other. Again, not my favorite, but it’s on my list as number 9.

8. LAZEL

Okay, so this ship is only 8 because people think that Frank isn’t good enough for Hazel. Why people think that, I don’t know. But there is a lot of evidence for this ship, so it’s on my list. Unfortunately it’s not my favorite, so it’s 8.

7. CALEO

There’s pretty much an entire 4 chapters and half a series on this subject. Calypso hated him at first because of the dining table (still makes me laugh!) and Percy. Percy, just why? Anyway, she ends up falling for him and Leo comes back and takes her away from Ogygia. In the Trials of Apollo, they are a couple traveling with Apollo, and they’re a pretty good team! Once again, it’s up there, just not my all-time fave. It could be, though! But for now, it’s #7.

6. GRUNIPER

Gruniper is really cute. It started in the Olympians arc, and never fails to warm hearts. Grover is hilarious, but a really sweet satyr, while Juniper the tree nymph is super cute! They survived the Cloven Elders fiasco, the attack of Kronos’ armies, and the war against Kronos AND Gaea! If a couple can survive that much, they deserve to be together. It almost made top 5, but #6 is still very good.

5. THALUKE

This ship took off before the series started. Thalia turned into a tree, breaking Luke’s heart and pretty much sending him on the path of betraying Olympus and becoming Kronos. (It’s a long story.) Anyway, Luke died and Thalia, already un-tree-ified for the last 3 books, has become a Hunter and forgone any men. So basically, it’s a tragic ship. Nobody in this ship ends up together, but a lot of people wanted them too! This barely made number 5, but it deserves to be there.

4. JASPER

This is the start of the main ships in Heroes of Olympus. Jasper started out as a Mist memory from Hera (seriously, woman?) but turned into a real relationship and is super cute. The really cute moments are special in the books; Jason saving Piper when she fell from the Grand Canyon, Jason always getting head wounds and Piper caring for him :), Jason getting stabbed and Piper being very scared for him (as she should be), and the last part where they kissed under the stars after Gaea was defeated. This deserves #4.

3. FRAZEL

I don’t get what people hate about this ship. It’s awesome. People think that Hazel can do much better, but I disagree. Frank trusted Hazel with the firewood that connects with his life, and Hazel told Frank her secret. If that’s not couple material, everyone else can go to Tartarus. This is the rightful owner of the #3 spot.

2. SOLANGELO

This ship is amazing. It is wholesome, has a backstory, represents LGBTQ+, and has been confirmed canon. I repeat, SOLANGELO HAS BEEN CONFIRMED CANON BY RICK RIORDAN. In the Hidden Oracle, they admit to having crushes on each other and they start dating. They are polar opposites, but they are by far, the cutest couple on this list so far. They deserve number 2. But hold on to your pegasi because here comes…

1. PERCABETH

These two are the BEST. They are more than a couple, more than soulmates. They are basically a part of each other. Annabeth quite literally says that in The House of Hades. This ship started in the Olympian era, waaaay back in The Lightning Thief. After that, it took off, never slowing down. In Son of Neptune, Percy says that he woke up with one name: Annabeth. That is DEDICATION. If this isn’t the best couple, I’ll go to Tartarus myself!

Kane Chronicles Ships

There aren’t many, but i’ll put these, since they’re the only ships.

3. Carter x Zia

I don’t know the ship name for these two, or for any, but these two aren’t the cutest. Sorry, guys.

2. Sadie x Walt

I think it’s cute, but I like #1 better.

1. Sadie x Anubis

Walt and Anubis are the same people,, so this ship is cute, but it’s the same as Sadie x Walt. Kane Chronicles is very much anti-ship. Sorry, guys.

Magnus Chase Ships

I haven’t read this series, so this is a popular opinion.

1. Fierrochase

Yeah, there’s really only one ship. It’s non-binary and that’s cool, and apparently it’s semi-canon? Rick Riordan, please work on your shipping material. I need more content.

Anyway, here’s the finals.

3. Sadie x Anubis

I don’t really get what’s the difference between Sadie x Walt and this ship, since Walt and Anubis are the same people (long story), and there’s no LGBTQ+ in this book (it’s the ONLY series with no LGBTQ+ stuff, please fix that, Rick.) So it’s the bottom. I apologize, Sadie.

2. Fierrochase

It’s basically the ONLY ship in the Magnus Chase series, and it’s inferior to my number 1 (like every other ship is), so this goes 2nd. The really only thing in its favor is that it’s LGBTQ+. Sorry guys. But you probably know who’s number 1…

1. Percabeth

Repeating what I said before, this is awesome. It’s basically held out through 3 series, including Trials of Apollo. (Yes, that’s Percy Jackson.) It survived Tartarus, Kronos, Gaea, and Percy losing his memory and disappearing for 8 months. So if that much happened and they’re STILL a thing, then they’re number 1.

Unofficial winner: Solangelo

Come on. There is SO much fanart for this! It’s so cute! It’s canon! It’s an ‘opposites attract’ scenario! It’s gay as in LGBTQ+! I love it! So it’s the unofficial winner. Honestly, I can’t choose between Percabeth and Solangelo!

Okay, that’s it. Yes, Percy Jackson is really the only pro-ship thing that Riordan has written. Percabeth and Solangelo are my all-time faves, so yeah. Support these two ships, and try to find more for your own benefit!

If you want some pics of the ships, here you go.

From kalayame.tumblr.com. This is a PERFECT moment from the second Percy Jackson book. It ultimately shows their relationship, and Percy’s face is hilarious! –Marie Weber
