Is Ahsoka Tano Alive?

When we first were given Ahsoka, we were given a snippy, hot-headed girl. Now we have one of the wisest force users in the galaxy. We were given around three whole seconds that could have created huge plot holes about her. Well, was it facts or was it fake? The big question still left unanswered: is Ahsoka alive? The cameo in the Rise of Skywalker that has caused so much confusion among fans of Ahsoka. Was it actually meant to be, or was it not?

Before I get into how I think she isn’t dead, here is why lots of people think she is. When all the Jedi were reaching out to Rey, all of the Jedi who spoke were dead, but Ahsoka was included, and her death was never confirmed. People thought she would be, because she was among the dead. So in the end, we are left with the mystery if she was, or if she wasn’t.

Now it’s time to dive into why she isn’t. In the altar of Mortis arc, she fuses with the daughter. Note, the daughter’s spirit is directly put into her. Ahsoka is technically the daughter from that point forward.

But there is a problem. If you have the knowledge that the only way for the daughter and son to die is from the dagger of Mortis, you’d think in order to kill her, is for someone to get the dagger and kill her like that, you’d be wrong. Because the father is dead, and all of the siblings’ powers; immortality, the force, is gone. This is technically going against my point, but there is more to it. She can be killed with any sort of lightsabers, as that is how the son went out, but if she dies, she is reincarnated.

How is this possible? When the daughter died, she was incarnated as an owl. Well, if the daughter got reincarnated, and the daughter is also Ahsoka, technically, she will also be. That is technically being alive, but it might be in a different way you’d expect. Not as a togruta, but maybe something else.

Another thing, she didn’t have to be dead in order to talk to Rey. If Luke was able to project an image of himself across the galaxy, and Anikin was able to do it, I think Ahsoka could talk to Rey from wherever she wanted to. Why do I think so? Because in the Ahsoka novel, she meditates a lot, making her connection to the force even more strong. This makes it more likely that she talked to Rey when she was alive.

Here is what I think if I were to base the answer off of what was in the movies, but here is the answer outside of the movies.

Dave Filoni also drew a picture of Gandalf and Ahsoka, and he said, “people thought I was dead, and look how that turned out…” I think he was hinting that Ahsoka was alive, seeing that Gandalf was actually alive when people thought he was dead. Of course, this doesn’t have to be facts.

“I thought JJ’s instinct to be so inclusive with all these various elements of Star Wars and characters so I didn’t think of it in a literal story.” – Dave Filoni, creator of ahsoka. What Dave Filoni is saying is that the director, JJ Abrams, was trying to include lots and lots of fan favorites to be so inclusive, so people from all of the sagas could enjoy it. Including a character from a popular series like The Clone Wars would do well.

So, whether or not she is or isn’t alive, she will always have this special place in my heart.

  1. I don’t understand half of what you were talking about since I haven’t seen what you are referring to, but i like it nonetheless.
